Position in based in Reading with once a month travel on site.

This position will be suited to you if you have had experience within procurement as a Buyer and are able to speak Cantonese/Mandarin.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:

• Identify and source high-quality materials and components required for production.
• Ensure timely procurement to meet production schedules and avoid delays.
• Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to optimise costs.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyse and manage freight costs to control expenses, seeking cost-effective shipping solutions.
• Monitor order status and proactively address potential delays to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product development teams to source innovative materials and components for new products.
• Participate in supplier selection for new projects, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

Person Specification of the Buyer:

• Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a must
• Proven experience of procuring finished goods for an airline (or similar high-volume industry)
• Ability to negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Driven and motivated individual with a desire to progress in their career
